Inverters and decentralised inverters from the MOVI-C® modular automation system feature the integrated Safe Torque Off (STO) safety function in accordance with IEC 61800-5-2 as standard in the basic unit.
For all applications that require more than the safe stop function (STO), simply expand the functional safety of the inverters from SEW-EURODRIVE with plug-in expansion cards. These MOVISAFE® CS..A safety options adapt the scope of the safety functions of these devices quickly and easily, customised to the requirements of the application.
Switch-off, safe disconnection/stop, movement or positioning (relative/absolute) - simply select the safety function required for the application and safety for man and machine is guaranteed.

All controllers route the PROFIsafe data to the safety options, allowing direct communication between your safety controller and the axis modules and MOVISAFE® CS..A safety options, thus avoiding multiple safety programmes and reducing complexity in the system.
Or do you want to dispense with the superimposed safety controller?
Then Safety over EtherCAT® is the right choice - here MOVI-C® CONTROLLERs are linked to the axis modules via a Safety Control Unit (SCU safety controller) - all from a single source, with components from SEW-EURODRIVE.

Our objective is to fulfil all functional safety requirements for machines and applications that require a large number of safe I/Os. For this purpose, MOVI-PLC® I/O modules include two Safety over EtherCAT® I/O modules, each with four safe inputs and outputs. Simply integrate these into your application solution with a "SCU" safety controller. The modules integrate external, functionally safe field units into the machine and system structure and process their signals. This means maximum flexibility in the design and architecture of applications.

MOVIDRIVE® and MOVITRAC® are the inverters in control cabinet technology. The stop and idle state safety functions are integrated in these basic units. If these are not sufficient for the requirements of the application, the scalable MOVISAFE® CS..A safety options extend the functional safety of the inverters. These are plug-in expansion cards that can be retrofitted at any time.

Functional safety can also be flexibly designed in decentralised installations with components from SEW-EURODRIVE - even with demanding requirements for the safety of people and machines. The STO (SafeTorque Off, in accordance with standard IEC 61800-5-2) safety function is integrated as standard in decentralised inverters and drive units up to PL e/ SIL 3.
