Space-saving installation
thanks to customised tuning of torque and rotational speed in all 7 sizes.
High economic efficiency
thanks to the simple design of the worm gearbox.
Low-noise operation
because the linear power transmission to the input shaft dampens the torque impulses.
They owe their cost-effectiveness to their simple design. Thanks to the customised matching of torque and rotational speed, our worm gearboxes in a space-saving manner. Realise simple requirements in your machine or system applications cost-effectively with the S series worm gearboxes.
The combination with a helical gear stage enables a significantly higher efficiency than with pure worm gearboxes. Thanks to the linear power transmission, these helical-worm gearboxes are particularly running smoothness and low noise. Why? The force is transmitted to the input shaft via the worm shaft and worm wheel race. This dampens torque impulses and ensures a low noise level.
The torque range extends from 92 Nm to 4,000 Nm. For the new S..7p from 105 Nm to 4,300 Nm.

Our new S..7power series also offers a higher torque across all 7 sizes, giving you greater power density. The torque of the S..7p series is up to 65 % higherthan the standard S..7 worm gearboxes.
Lubrication
In addition to lubricating the gearing, gear oils play a significant role in heat dissipation in gear units. Our lubricant GearOil Poly by SEW-EURODRIVE increases the performance of worm gear units by of the worm gear units, in particular by reducing friction in the gearing. This allows the worm gear units to be utilised at a higher torque. GearOil Poly forms a very good lubricating film, which extends the service life of the lubricant itself, but also of wear parts such as sealing rings or storage. Likewise GearOil Poly also improves the efficiency of the worm gears.
Efficiency
In a worm gear, the transmission of force and speed leads to a high proportion of sliding friction between the worm and worm gear. The use of GearOil Poly ensures excellent lubrication conditions and optimum heat dissipation at every operating point, resulting in an essential improvement in efficiency. efficiency is significantly improved. The efficiency of the S..7p worm gearboxes could thus be increased by up to 13 percentage points increased. This effect is particularly noticeable with the large gear ratios and is an enormous advantage. Thanks to the higher efficiency, you immediately have a higher usable output torque for the same motor power. higher usable output torque for the same motor power. immediately available. If the higher output torque is not used, consumption is reduced at the same rotational speed and you save energy. You save energy and benefit from lower energy costs.
More power or more reserves
With the increased torques, you can make a leap in size downwards in the best case scenario, as you can now achieve higher torques in a smaller space or, if you are unable to vary the gearbox size, you have greater safety/reserves with the same size. same size, you have higher safety/reserves in your drive. in your drive.
Then use our modular system and combine the worm gear units of the S series or the new S..7p with an AC motor to create a S..DR. worm gearmotor. or with a servomotor to a S..CMP servo worm gearmotor of your choice. Or simply select the separate servo worm gear motor that meets your requirements. AC motor to suit your requirements or servomotor.
