14/10/2024 • SEW-EURODRIVE takes steps to boost sustainability through the unveiling of new solution
Earlier this year, we unveiled SEW-EURODRIVE’s new format-changing drive system at the Anuga FoodTec international trade fair in Cologne, Germany, expanding our 48 V portfolio, and further enhancing our automation technology product range.
The new system provides machine builders with an efficient solution for implementing adjustable axes, supporting both open-loop and closed-loop control. The system also combines software and hardware components for quick, resource-friendly engineering of adjusting axes.
The expanded portfolio consists of five different stepper motors in sizes NEMA23 and NEMA34, a stepper motor module that belongs to the existing MOVIPLC® I/O system portfolio, a prefabricated software module, and the necessary cabling.
These components, which facilitate and speed up integration into machinery, enable resource-friendly format adjustment with open-loop control. Closed-loop applications in field-oriented operation are also possible.
This new SEW-EURODRIVE portfolio reduces dependency on pneumatic systems, as well as facilitating precise format adjustments in the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.
This results in reduced overall costs and eliminates the need for compressed air infrastructure. In turn, this makes the carbon footprint much smaller and improves energy efficiency in production.
Stuart Swarbrick from SEW-EURODRIVE UK, said: “Through the innovation of our colleagues across the globe, we are currently leading the way for exciting new approaches to sustainable automation solutions.
“The new format changing drive system really enhances our product range and will help our customers to improve their production efficiency.”
