The right tool for a customised solution

In combination with the new MOVI-C® CONTROLLER portfolio, the SEW-EURODRIVE product portfolio and external field units interact perfectly. Take advantage of the wide quotation of function modules and their combination options. Simply integrate them into the EtherCAT® bus of the open-loop control system via the bus coupler and use the full functionality in daily practice: e.g. read in binary and analogue signals or SSI encoder signals, or obtain data from counter or measuring modules, e.g. energy consumption.

Suitable I/O modules are also available for Safety over EtherCAT® for the special requirements in functionally safe areas.

Features and TD

A module unit consists of a terminal module and electronics module. These are connected with a secure sliding and latching mechanism. The terminal module combines terminals, a holder for the electronics module and the backplane bus connector. When servicing is required, only the electronics module is replaced by simply pulling it out of the terminal module - the wiring and mounting on the 35 mm Deutsches Institut für Normung profile rail remain in place. By using additional power supply modules, the electronics modules can be supplied with stress and/or divided into separate potential groups.

The terminals arranged in a staircase on the terminal module with the proven and particularly safe contacting spring-cage technology enable fast, clear and safe wiring. The integrated status LEDs and the labelling strips on the front of the electronics modules ensure channel-specific, clear assignment and readability of the channel statuses. The backplane bus concept with a speed of 48 Mbit/s enables very short response times.

In addition, digital input and output modules with up to 16 channels enable a high system density to be achieved.

Communication

The EtherCAT® and CANopen interface modules are available for data exchange. The I/O modules are equipped with a power supply module for voltage supply and support up to 64 electronics modules on the backplane bus.
