Reliable monitoring
of brake function and wear with just one measuring system.
Customised planning
of wear-orientated maintenance intervals, as the diagnostic unit /DUE continuously determines the working air gap of the brake.
One-off purchase
because the measuring system itself works contactless and is therefore wear-free.
The diagnostic unit option /DUE from SEW-EURODRIVE for the BE1 to BE122 brakes and for the BF11 to BF 30 double brakes, which have proven themselves millions of times over, performs two tasks with just one measuring system: monitoring the brake function and determining the wear of the brake lining. Both are made possible by the continuous monitoring of the working air gap of the brake. This means that wear-orientated maintenance intervals for the brake system can also be planned individually. In practice, this means that you have the function and wear of the brake under control at all times.
The sensor is fully integrated into the brake and the evaluation electronics are protected in the terminal box. This means that the diagnostic unit option /DUE can also be used in harsh ambient conditions up to IP66 without any problems.
It also provides a digital output signal as standard for the function of the brake and the wear of the brake lining, as well as an analogue current signal that corresponds to the size of the working air gap.
The measuring system works contactless, based on the eddy current principle; high-frequency alternating current flows through the sensor technology. The electromagnetic field induces eddy currents in the pressure plate, which change the AC resistance of the sensor technology. This change in impedance is converted by the evaluation unit into an electrical signal (4 - 20 mA) that is proportional to the working air gap of the brake.
The function monitoring of the brakes is realised with digital signals (NO contact). And reaching the wear limits is signalled with digital inputs/outputs (NC contacts). In addition, current outputs make it possible to continuously monitor the wear of the brake.
In addition to the outputs, LEDs on the evaluation unit indicate the function and wear of each partial brake.
