Simply optimized - versatile in use

With the special agitator design of three proven standard gear unit series, SEW-EURODRIVE covers almost every application for a wide range of industries. The RM.. series of helical gear units from SEW-EURODRIVE has long been available as a design variant for mixers and agitating applications.

NEW in the portfolio are the two series FM../FAM.., as parallel shaft gear units, and KM../KAM.., as bevel gear units. This is because in many cases flat and bevel gearboxes are also used for this type of application. On the one hand, these gearbox variants allow existing space conditions to be better utilised and, on the other hand, the agitator shafts with agitator element can be inserted directly into the hollow gearbox shafts on offer. In many cases, there is no need for an addendum bearing arragement.

The approved overhung loads range from 25,000 N to 176,500 N. The motors matching the sizes range from 0.12 kW to 90 kW in terms of power. The maximum permissible output torque of the gear units ranges from 820 Nm to 20,000 Nm.

These options are available for the agitator version:

  • Double oil seal at the output end for additional safety against leakage
  • Amplified bearing arragement also on the output end; this increases the permissible overhung load, especially at high output speeds and small gear ratios
  • Grease nipple for relubricating the output shaft bearing
  • Dry-well design with leakage sensor prevents contamination of the product by escaping lubricant in the event of leakage.

X agitator drives with extended bearing spacing

The X agitator drives from SEW-EURODRIVE are used wherever high power ratings are required for agitating and mixing large quantities of liquids or pastes, such as in the chemical industry, the food industry, waste water treatment or mining.

The X agitator drives have been designed for the application-specific loads:

  • for light loads:
    In the 6.8 to 475 kNm torque range, a design with the universal housing for helical gears and bevel-helical gears (from 2 to 4 stages) is available.
  • for medium and heavy loads:
    In the torque range 22 to 90 kNm, two designs are available that are characterised by a roller bearing concept with increased bearing spacing. It goes without saying that all our drives are suitable for ATEX applications and can be used in combination with the standard options "drywell" seal, pressure lubrication/bath lubrication, flange coupling, fan cooling, foot or flange mounting.
    • The first design exists exclusively as a 3-stage helical gearbox. Due to the use of an optimized vertical housing with cooling fins, axial fan etc., the thermal rating of this design is increased.
    • The second variant is available as a 2- to 4-stage helical gearbox and bevel-helical gearbox. It is based on the combination of a universally applicable housing with a reinforced bearing concept.
