Here at SEW-EURODRIVE, we’ve recently launched APPredict, a web-based application for smartphones, tablets and PC. The application is designed to monitor the health of gearmotors through vibration data, enabling customers to receive real-time and remote support.
APPredict improves the operating life of the gearmotor until maintenance, without risking downtime. With easy installation of wireless sensors directly on the gear units (both SEW and third party), it's possible to monitor and manage vibration data helping you stay within the advised levels of vibration quality, in line with ISO 10816-1).
It also allows you to monitor oil life and working temperature, allowing you to see earlier warning signs of gearmotor damage.
Monitoring the health of gearmotors is incredibly easy with APPredict, with benefits not only in terms of performance, but also in terms of process efficiency.
The status of a gear unit can be checked at a glance, whilst temperature and vibration values are recorded every four hours and stored for up to one year on the SEW cloud. This data can be exported in Excel format, helping operators to identify any trends.
APPredict greatly helps with predictive maintenance too. Customers receive the maintenance information for each gear unit (oil change, total working hours, vibrations above the ISO threshold of alert), putting forward recommendations for repair months in advance, and avoiding potential downtime.
Notifications about the health of the gearmotors are sent via e-mail and Telegram, allowing operators to schedule and manage maintenance operations only when there is a real need. Operators are also able to directly access online support for each monitored component, helping with fast and smooth repairs when needed.
Predictive maintenance is highly cost-effective, reducing both maintenance costs and downtime, and therefore generating substantial savings for businesses.
