There is an ongoing trend towards decentralization, insufficient space when it comes to system expansion, and increasing modularization. This is the reason why many ­applications are implemented by installing the inverter and control functionalities in the field instead of in the control cabinet. A "micro control cabinet in the field" is the optimum solution in such cases: the MOVIPRO^® field inverter.

The MOVIPRO® field inverter is a complete decentralized drive control system in an ­extremely compact, modular housing.

The tried and tested SEW-EURODRIVE modular system is also used for the ­MOVIPRO^® field inverter. The modular system for the MOVIPRO^® field inverter ­comprises a modular housing concept and various unit components that can be ­combined as required. The housing concept is based on a modular structure with ­various predefined modules that are optimized for use in the field. Various unit components are integrated into the modular housing depending on the requirements. Unit ­components are, for example, optimized power sections, communication and energy supply components, local I/Os, and synchronous encoder systems.
