MOVIDRIVE® MDX 60/61B drive inverter
Your advantages MOVIDRIVE® MDX60/61B is the new generation of drive inverters from SEW-EURODRIVE. The new B series MOVIDRIVE® drive inverters are impressive devices with more basic functions, an expanded lower power range, greater overload capacity and a modular unit design. They facilitate unrestricted application of AC drives with a power range of 0.55 to 160 kW (0.74 to 215 hp) with the most modern digital inverter technology.  With MOVIDRIVE®, even asynchronous AC motors can now achieve levels of dynamics and control quality that previously could only be achieved with servo drives or DC motors. The integrated control and expansion options using technology and communication options creates remarkably cost-effective drive systems as regards diversity of application, project planning, startup and operation.

Standard versionThe units are equipped with the IPOSplus® integrated positioning and sequence control system as standard. They can also be expanded with the available options. "00" at the end of the type designation indicates the standard design.


 

Application versionIn addition to the features of the standard design, these units include the "electronic cam" and "internal synchronous operation" technology functions. You can also use all the application modules available in the MOVITOOLS® operating software package with the application versions. The application version is indicated by "0T" following the type designation.


 

Application modulesThe application version inverters also provide access to the application modules. Application modules are standardized control programs specifically for positioning, winding, and controlling drive tasks. Options
Keypad type DBG60B The keypad is used for startup and service. The basic unit, MOVIDRIVE® MDX60/61B, does not have a keypad as standard, but can be upgraded as an option.
DMP11B mounting panel If you want to replace a MOVIDRIVE® MD_60A size 2 with a MOVIDRIVE® MDX61B size 2S, the MOVIDRIVE® MDX61B size 2S can be fixed on the existing mounting plate with the DMP11B mounting panel. Drilling new retaining holes is not necessary.
HIPERFACE® encoder card type DEH11B The option-capable MOVIDRIVE® MDX61B units can be equipped with the HIPERFACE® encoder card type DEH11B. The encoder card provides one input for the motor encoder and one input for an external encoder, also referred to as a synchronous encoder. The input for the external encoder can also be used as an output for incremental encoder simulation.
Resolver card type DER11B Option-capable MOVIDRIVE® MDX61B units can be equipped with resolver card type DER11B. The resolver card offers one input for the resolver as motor encoder and one input for an external encoder, also referred to as a synchronous encoder. The input for the external encoder can also be used as an output for incremental encoder simulation.
Interface adapter type DWE11B/12B The DWE11B/12B interface adapter in the form of an adapter cable is used to connect HTL encoders (single-ended HTL sensors and push-pull HTL sensors) to the DEH11B HIPERFACE® card.
Interface adapter type UWS11A The UWS11A option converts RS-232 signals, for example from the PC, into RS-485 signals. These RS-485 signals can then be routed to the RS-485 interface of the basic MOVIDRIVE® unit.
Interface adapter type UWS21B The UWS21B option converts RS-232 signals, for example from the PC, into RS-485 signals. These RS-485 signals can then be routed to the XT slot of the MOVIDRIVE® basic unit.
Interface adapter type USB11A Option USB11A enables a PC or laptop with a USB interface to be connected to the XT slot of MOVIDRIVE®. The USB11A interface adapter supports USB 1.1 and USB 2.0.
5 V encoder supply type DWI11A Option DWI11A provides regulated DC 5 V supply for encoders. For this purpose, the DC 12 V power supply for the encoder inputs is converted to DC 5 V by a voltage controller. A sensor line is used to measure the supply voltage at the encoder and compensate the voltage drop along the encoder cable.
Input / output card type DIO11B Option-capable MOVIDRIVE® MDX61B units can be equipped with input / output card type DIO11B. Option DIO11B expands the binary and analog inputs and outputs of the basic MOVIDRIVE® unit.
PROFIBUS interface type DFP21B Option-capable MOVIDRIVE® MDX61B units can be equipped with PROFIBUS interface type DFP21B. Option DFP21B is a 12-MBaud fieldbus interface for the PROFIBUS-DP serial bus system. The principal task of PROFIBUS-DP is to transmit data in rapid cycles between central automation equipment (PROFIBUS master) and decentralized peripheral units (such as drive inverters).
INTERBUS interface type DFI11B Option-capable MOVIDRIVE® MDX61B units can be equipped with INTERBUS interface type DFI11B. Option DFI11B is an interface for the non-proprietary and standardized serial INTERBUS sensor/actuator bus system. INTERBUS functions include a process data channel and parameter data channel. These allow simple, user-friendly control and parameterization of intelligent actuators, such as the MOVIDRIVE® drive inverter.
INTERBUS LWL interface type DFI21B Option-capable MOVIDRIVE® MDX61B units can be equipped with INTERBUS LWL interface type DFI21B. Option DFI21B is an interface for the non-proprietary and standardized serial INTERBUS sensor/actuator bus system with fiber optic cables. INTERBUS functions include a process data channel and parameter data channel. These allow simple, user-friendly control and parameterization of intelligent actuators, such as the MOVIDRIVE® drive inverter.
Modubs / TCP DFE11B Ethernet interfacePROFINET I0 DFE12B Ethernet interfaceEthernet / IP DFE13B Ethernet interface Option-capable MOVIDRIVE® DX61B units can be equipped with Ethernet interface type DFE11B / 12B / 13B. Options DFE11B / 12B / 13B are interfaces for connecting higher-level automation, project planning and visualization systems via Ethernet. You can use options DFE11B/12B/13B to communicate directly with the inverters via Ethernet to change parameters and programs and to operate the MOVITOOLS® software. An integrated Web server makes it possible for the user to access diagnostic values quickly and easy using a standard browser (e.g. Internet Explorer).
DeviceNet interface type DFD11B Option-capable MOVIDRIVE® MDX61B units can be equipped with DeviceNet interface type DFD11B. Option DFD11B is an interface for connecting to higher-level automation, project planning and visualization systems via the non-proprietary and standardized DeviceNet fieldbus system.
CANopen interface type DFC11B Option-capable MOVIDRIVE® MDX61B units can be equipped with the CANopen interface type DFC11B. Option DFC11B is an interface for connecting to the serial CANopen bus system. The CAN bus uses a very efficient, message-oriented communication protocol.
Absolute encoder interface type DIP11B Option-capable MOVIDRIVE® MDX61B units can be equipped with absolute encoder interface type DIP11B. Option DIP11B supplements MOVIDRIVE® with an SSI interface for absolute encoders.
Synchronous operation board DRS11B The DRS11B option enables a group of motors to run in angular synchronous operation or in an adjustable proportional relationship. The basis for synchronous operation is the continuous comparison of the rotor angle positions of the master and slave motors. The motors must be equipped with encoders. The DRS11B option is plugged into the expansion slot.
MOVI-PLC® basic controllers DHP11B-TODHP11B-T1DHP11B-T2PROFIBUS With the MOVI-PLC® basic DHP11B-Tx controllers, SEW-EURODRIVE's product portfolio includes user-programmable controllers compliant with the IEC 61131-3 and PLCopen standards. This facilitates integration and programming of logic and motion control in one program and in accordance with international standards. Various unit versions are available to support the implementation of powerful technology and application libraries.
MOVI-PLC® OST11B Compact control In conjunction with MOVI-PLC®, the OST11B option offers an additional, galvanically separated RS-485 interface, optimized for connecting a drive operator panel (DOP), a gearmotor with integrated MOVIMOT® frequency inverter or an engineering PC.

Accessories and options
MOVITOOLS® operating software The MOVITOOLS® program package allows you to conveniently start up and set parameters for MOVITRAC® B frequency inverters and MOVIDRIVE® MDX60/61B drive inverters.
Braking resistor type BW BW series braking resistors are available for operating MOVITRAC® B frequency inverters and MOVIDRIVE® MDX60/61B drive inverters as generators. You can choose between PTC resistors, flat-type braking resistors, wire resistors or grid resistors depending on the power and resistance value. You can also choose from a large range of accessories including support rail mounting and touch guards for some resistance types. The power range (100% CDF) is 0.10 to 18 kW (0.13 to 24 hp). Resistance values range from 6 Ω to 100 Ω.
Line choke type ND ND series line chokes increase inverter overvoltage protection. This is an important characteristic in rough industrial power supply systems, especially if the inverter is installed near a supply transformer. Line chokes also limit the charging current of the inverter to reduce harmonics, which is important if multiple inverters are connected in parallel.
NF...type line filter NF type line filters are available for EMC compliant installation as specified by EN 55011. They suppress interference emissions on the line side of inverters. These line filters ensure that limit value class B is maintained on the supply end.
Output choke type HD HD series output chokes suppress interference emitted from unshielded motor cables. They enable the motor to meet limit value class B requirements in accordance with EN 55011 in EMC-compliant installations. Output chokes provide an alternative to shielded motor cables in EMC-compliant installations.
Output filter type HF HF series output filters are sine filters that smooth out inverter output voltage. Output filters are used for group drives to suppress discharge currents in motor cables and for long motor cables to prevent voltage peaks. Output filters can only be used with V/f and VFC voltage-controlled operating modes, not with CFC and SERVO voltage-controlled operating modes.
